First meal in Singapore
When we arrived at our hotel in Singapore, it was 8 pm and we didn’t feel like exploring the area in darkness. Near our hotel, we found a little diner called “Enjoy” with a simple and a little cheesy décor but it had great online reviews. We knew Singapore was going to have fabulous food, and our first unique and delectable meal confirmed it. It was so good that we decided to include Singapore in our future travels again. Here’s what I enjoyed (please note: descriptions are copied right off the menu):
XO white fish soup: white, collagen-rich fish soup that is accomplished through 6-8 hours of preparation, with no milk added. Served with fresh cabbage and yam.
Smoked cod otah: grilled spicy fish paste with chunks of smoked cod, otah is a delicious local dish loved throughout South East Asia.
Popiah garden: three scoops of gelato: blue pea pandan lemongrass, sea salt Horlicks and soursop – on a popiah skin “lawn” with shaved peanut candy “soil” and coriander “shrubs”.
Plan for next day: lunch at the Lau Pa Sat centre.
